Well folks, it seems that summer is about to end today and fall is about to stick it's head out. This means remote starter season is about a month away for us here in Canada. I haven't been very active in the forums of late due to the busy summer we had & now that fall/winter is coming up I'll be even less of a member here. Hope that eveyone has a good and profitable winter and hope to see you guys active in the forums.

I have one question to anyone out there that has had the opportunity to use the new bootloader for the XK Series modules. Does it work and is it worth the extra $$$ ?? Let me know cause I'm going to send in my bookings for the winter and just wanted to hear some actual testimonials from field installers instead of from the manufacturer or the sales rep. Thanks and talk to you later.

hey Jeff
Mike (AS rep) was actually just in the other day, and dropped me off a sheet for them. Trying to convince the Wpg. guys, but I know I will definately be looking at them (had enough of DEI taking their sweet time to catch up to the rest of the known word, only to release rebadged Fortin/AS bypasses)
I think our opening of 24 pieces includes a bootloader ($45) according to my info.
Gus
PS: we do starters all year round here, sometimes 5 in a week.... can't wait for 6 a day time though....

I've been averaging 2 a day already.
Bootloader is on it's way, we have to eat through old stock of modules however.
have all the new AS starters in, nice to see the two way LCD coming with a second remote.

I heard about this creature a few months ago. How many manufacture are making them so far?   I hope it won't be one price and one seller type of product .
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.05/06 Remote Starter Season -- posted image.

Astrostart so far that I know of, probably Fortin or Omega will be as well.
Here's something we were mulling over beers later on in the afternoon today. With the lovely high fuel prices what they are right now (and they can only go higher), think people will be more hesitant to idle their cars? I mean, I drive a diesel and could care less if the thing idles 24/7 for what it uses for fuel (200ml/hr according to Vag-Com, but anyways... only hardcore TDi morons like myself would bother to check that), but do think little miss soccer mom is going to idle the sportfutility for 30min at a shot every day? Or dude with the Hemi that can prolly eat an 1/8th of a tank in a couple remote start cycles (what do those things get on the highway, like 10MPG? 15 maybe?)
Just wondering if any of you have discussed anything like this yet or not.
