car alarm, 77 chevy truck

77 chevy truck single cab  installed pins in the doors & hood now when the driver side door is open it doesnt trigger the alarm when its open but when i open the pass side about 30 sec or so the alarm set its self but doesnt go off until the door is shut  i have a prestige model aps-15kb. i have all 3 wire to the brown wire and have it set up as a hardwire

77 chevt that had no triggers installed 2 door 1 hood and when i leave my pass side door open the alarm reset its self within 30 sec then when i shut the door it goes off now the driverside doesn't do that i have a 3 hook up to the brown wire i even went and removed some of the paint to help get a good ground does anybody know if thats normal or did i hook up my alarm wrong its a prestige aps-15kb

Check to make sure you have a good ground path for the alarm. Back out the pin switches and use a piece of sandpaper to remove the old paint that comes in contact with the pin switch. The theory behind this wire is as soon as it sees a ground it triggers the alarm. This issue you are seeing seems to be a ground issue. When all the doors and hood are shut and you set the alarm do you get one chirp or do you get multible chirps. If you get one chirp this is a definate ground issue. Also check the crimped connectors that you used to attach the wires to the pin switches. A bad crimp can cause a faulty connection. I have seen this way to much. If you hear multiple chirps this means that there is a zone open, meaning that the brown trigger wire is grounded. Let me know if this helps
