alright the remote starter in my 1994 honda civic won't work .the lghts on the dash lights up, but it doesn't turn over. i was thinking that there is either a starter interrupt still hooked up from the previous alarm that was in the car. also on the vehicle wiring diagrams show that there are four wires on the steering cloumn(ignition, starter, heater/ a/c, 12+volt) on my car there is another wire making a total of 5 wires. i'm thinking that my car has a second heater/ a/c, starter or ignition wire. should i follow the diagram on the instruction to hook it up with a relay whether it is a 2nd starter, heater/ a/c or ignition wire or should i just leave it alone.

also on the vehicle wiring diagrams it shows that the yellow wire is the accesory wire and on my car it isn't. actually the WHITE/ blk wire is the accesory. this wire(wht/blkl) is my fifth mystery wire.

tommorow i'll check the wires on the steering column and let you know which one they are acc, ign, starter, constant 12+volt and let you know in what position they have 12+volts in.

velcity have you ever had any problems that the remote start wouldn't work on this alarm and if so how did you fix it. i'm trying to find some ideas that may help me figure it out.

  • make sure that the clutch activation circuit is functional
  • make sure that all ignition wires are getting 12 volts when RS
  • make sure that the sequence is performed properly when remote starting a manual
  • try this: get in the car and place system into READY MODE to start . Make sure that you have your foot pressing on the clutch and try to start the car. The system has to be ARMED in order for the RS to start.

  • The YELLOW wire IS your ACC wire. Strip back the insulation and give this wire 12 volts + while the fan motor is on high. This should engage the fan motor when you place the jumper wire on this YELLOW wire.
  • BLACK / YELLOW wire is your ignition wire and when you jumper 12 volts to this wire you should have your dash lights turn on ( just the little red & GREEN/ YELLOW lights, not your parking lights )
  • BLACK/ WHITE is your starter wire and if you jumper this wire you will turn over your starter.
  • WHITE wire is the 12 volts constant... this will register 12 volts with a DMM or the light will turn on with a light tester grounded to the frame

These wires are the same for all the Honda's and Acuras that I have sone int he past. I have done hundreds of these cars and they are the same for all. Unless the car's ignition harness was replaced at the dealership under warranty work.... this should hold true for the 1994 Civic you have.

also what do ou mean by the clutch activation circuit? also don't you need a wire to have power in the acc position(firts position on ignition) because if i take the pink wire on the alarm and hook up it up to the yellow hvac wire the pink wire will only get power when the key is turned to the ign position(second position on ign) i need the pink wire to have power from an acc wire so when i program the system. this is confusing, when they acc in the book does that mean to turn the key until the lights on the dash come on or just turn it so that the radio and other accesories come on.

WHITE/ BLACK wire is not used for anything on the RS unit. Disregard this wire completely. The clutch activation wire is for vehicles that have a (-) clutch activation or used to engage a relay to convert  to a (+) signal for the clutch. Without this wire there's no clutch activation and this means no start on the Civic. The ACC wire is only the HVAC controls and the IGN wire is when all the lights on the dash go on. The PINK wire is only an ACC wire that tells the system when to engage this wire. The Aladdin has an option that you can have the HVAC avtivate from 0 seconds to 5 minutes after start.
