I have an Avantguard 5 alarm and wondered if it is possible to add
more than 3 aux channels. I was told its possible to get a channel
splitter which splits 1 aux channel into 4. Anyone know anything about
this?
Also I have been told its possible to trigger several events off 1
keypress on the remote...ie * button turns off alarm / unlocks doors
and trigers channel B. Or ** button turns off alarm / unlocks doors
and trigers channel B & C. Again is this possible? I have the Cliffnet
Pro sw.
Thanks

Get your self a dei channel expander. using one of your controlable channels now you can control six with a channel expander. all channels on the expander are programable. and the unit is pretty cheep and easy to set up. small too. no internal relays so if you need something high current or more than a few amps you will need to add relays.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

no advise on triggering multiple events. however the unit only needs you to wait a few second after you are done using system to do somthing else. example if you want to open windows on my car i press the button on remote twice. hold on second pulse untill i see windows go down. then to open top i press button three times and sunroof opens. 4 times and it closes. when i press lock all close.

Just been looking round for a DEI 450T on ebay, It seems that DEI made a smaller version I assume the smaller is a newer version..is that any better or just smaller?
Have also read on a forum that the Avantguard 5 is NOT compatable with the 450T Channel expander, anyone know about that?
djfearny2 what alarm you use your channel expander with?
Also whats 'channel 8' on under remote programming on Cliffnet SW??

i just read and ran through the whole install guide of your alarm and the way the unit works correctly is if you have a non delayed trigger wire. using the WHITE/ blue wire from that alarm it is factory programed for a pulse when triggered by remote. no delay like the white red wire that is normally used for trunk release.
so from what i have read there is no reason it should not work.
i personally use the dei viper 791xv. with a channel expander. i have an air bag system so using the channel expander i can make my car go up and down. to the way i have my relays setup I control the movement by pressing the trigger buttons a set number of times for what i want.
example
expander channels each number is a press of the button
1- car down
2- car up
3- left up only
4- right up only
5- front up only
6- rear up only
there is two keys that i have to press on the remote so that i can hit them on accident.
plus with my alarm i have two internal extra triggers besides trunk trigger and with that i control my windows. up, down, vent.
my air bag system is all set up so when i shut off my ignition the car goes up so it is easier to get out. then when I press lock the car drops as far down as it can go. its just basically a whole bunch of relays off of the alarm and expander.
