I will be installing an alarm on a 1995 Astro van. This vehicle has a domelight delay feature which keeps the domelight on for 60 seconds after the last door is shut, then it shuts off. Will this in any way affect the door trigger on the alarm? If I arm the alarm while the domelight is still on during that 60 seconds, will the alarm "see" an open door? If so, how can i bypass this? diodes?relays? Or can i just tap into the white wire at a certain point in which it will work fine?

Most alarms have a selectable 5 sec or 60 sec door arming delay just for this reason.  Check your manual on how to change it.

Hey CutDog,

If your van has a domelight override push switch at the headlight button then go to the ORANGE / black at the switch.  It bypasses the BCM and is directly connected to the pinswitches.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.

OK, I tried that and it works. But, only if the domelight selector switch is set to "door". Above the radio, there is a switch to toggle control of the domelight between the doorswitches, or to turn it off completly. I turned this switch to "off" and the orang/black wire no longer works. BUT!, I did figure out how to solve it. I probed all 4 wires on the rear of this domlight selection switch, and i found a BLACK/ orange wire that "sees" all openings regardless of this switch position, AND even if the domelight delay is still on. WOOOHOOOO!!! I finally found the right wire1995 Astro dome light circuit -- posted image.!! Anybody else with an Asto van, remember this trick, it will save you a LOT of trouble. Every diagram I have seen so far tell me to grab a white wire in the drivers kick panel, but this is false! To truly have the alarm  "see" all doors, regardless of the domelight switch position, or regardless if the domelight delay is on or not, go ahead and grab the  BLACK/ orange wire in the domelight selector switch right over the radio1995 Astro dome light circuit -- posted image.
