prostart 3460 tachometer programing

i have a prostart 3460 dual communication remote starter i am installing it in a 1992 golf manual -i am not able to program the tachometer either in the first mode conventional tach programing or the or multi speed tah programing .i changed 3 module and the same problem first time after programing the starter works for 5 times correctly the engin starts by remote and stops by remote and after that it starts and keep on cranking so i stoppet it and after that forget it you cannot re program the tach --secong one worked for 2 days and then over cranked and did the same problem ---the 3rd one did not learn the tach and i wonder what to do -i have a good groud directly frome battery to module -any one had a similar problem ?????????

Is the Golf a diesel or gas engine ? Also post where you grabbed the tach wire from along with wire color.

no it is not a diesel and i put the tach on the negative side of the coil on idle i have 5.8 v ac the ground is 0.6 ohm i tested all the cables no luck --------

no the wire was black and red today i tryed one more time it worked but my rpm was at 1000to 1100rpm i do not know if it is gonna make the same problem again because off the rpm some time it is not stady do not forget it is 1992
