I just installed this unit today and it is great.  I have a question to you guys that have experiance with this alarm.  I installed the unit in a 1999 Ford Explorer and everything works fine.  I found the 5 door trigger wires for the doors and diode isolated them to the negitive trigger wire at the alarm.  The alarm has gone off  twice tonight and the 2 way remote shows the door trigger set it off.  Well I know for a fact that the door wasnt opened.  I have not programmed the alarm functions yet and I was wondering if there is somthing that I am missing that would set it off? I dont know what it would be.I am having trouble with the driver door not unlocking every time but it locks fine.  Any help would be great.  Thanks in advance.  Brian

brian it could be a bad door pin we have had that before in fords and dodges. but you can get one wire to do it all BLACK/ blue in kick or at headlight switch. and also it is positive not negative. fords have a tendency also to have a gem module that sends pulses down the door lines.

Thanks for the reply.  I have been having problems with the drivers door not unlocking.  I am wondering if that would some how affect the door trigger ? Isnt the door trigger in the handle of the door?  The reason that I used the 5 wires was to avoid the dome light delay.  Will I have a problem with this if I use the dome light wire?   Thanks for the info.  Brian

Thanks for the replys. I talked to Jeff and he told me to try to isolate the door triggers with a relay.  It works great! No more false alarms.  Thanks   Brian

I have not got the remote start going yet.  I had to order some keys because my brother only had one.  Have to get the dealer to program one of them so I can program the other. I am going to bypass the system (while remote started) with a relay and the chip out of one of the keys. (I will keep the bypass for a customer)  Thanks for the help.  Brian

Briah, another way to hook up the trigger wire is by using a

LIGHT BLUE \WHITE ( - ) wire the runs along the drivers kick panel this is the wire that goes to the factory anti-theft unit is also found at the rear quarter panel in the drivers side at the anti-theft unit there  you will find your door lock relays. Unlock, Lock, and drivers Unlock only for priority door lock.  I also have a 1999 Ford Explorer and it worked great for me. Instead of using relays for each door trigger, but the again if it works don't bother.
