Hi, I have a 2002 silverado base model. No power locks.I believe I hooked up all the wires correctly except I didn't connect the purple Tach wire. I wanted to connect to the ECM. The Bulldog website has schmatics, and it says to hook up to pin#10 red wire at ECM. Wire is not red on my truck so I stopped installationas I felt a bit nervous damaging the ECM.Prostart Manual says you can also connect to negative side of injector, neg. side of ignition coil, camshaft sensor. Can anyone help with the hookup locations. Also I read that some of these Chevy's require an additional module because of the Passlock. Is this applicable for this vehicle, as it is a base model? Thanks for any help.

yes for passlock and for the tach just go to any injector and use the "other" color wired. as in each injector will have two wires, one will always be the same or common color while the second wire will be different on each one

Does your prostart unit offer a voltage sensing option? If it does I would use that, the GM truck platform is one of the only vehicles I recommend voltage sensing on...your truck has factory over crank protection and factory anti-grind so voltage sensing is the way to go.
All of the trucks in that platform no matter how basic they are have the passlock anti theft system, no exceptions.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Well, I bought the bypass module for the Prostart CT5000(tramsponder bypass/V.A.T.S.,passlock1/passlock2). I hooked up the wires as suggested, although I didn't care for cutting the data wire in the steering column. The key side goes to the bypass(purple) and the other to the(PURPLE / white). The harness connects to the main module with red, black and brown(ground out) I assumed all the other connections were not applicable. I opened the hood to flash the hood pin and the lights flash for a few minutes. The remote starter does not react either. When I started the truck with the key, it starts and quits immediately. I removed all the plugs from the module and it starts like normal (whew!) I thought I had to call a tow truck to get it serviced. I guess I should remove all my connections and get it installed professionally. Should I reconnect the data(yellow wire from the key)in the meantime?

which bypass module do you have ?  patsk-600 ? For pats-600 key side should goto (PURPLE / white) car side goto (purple) ignition on bypass module also needs to be hooked up.

tach wire should be white at The ECM (Engine Control Module) is located near the battery and down low between the fender and fan under a BLACK plastic cover.  On the 4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L engines, it is located at Pin10 in the RED connector.
