I am a complete newbie to iPods. But I have install a few decks before, so I am not a complete idiot. I am trying to make a decision on installing an iPod in my truck. This device, iPod2Car, from peripheral electronics
Installs using there harness, the iPod2Car module and an existing CD changer interface cable. My truck did not come with a CD changer, but according to all information I have read the cable is still there. I really just want to know what is on the back of my factory radio, instead of pulling it apart and finding out that this was a big waste of money and there are RCA connections already there. My factory stereo has a cassette, and single slot cd player that is part of the deck. According to the manufacturers website I will be able to change tracks up and down and basically have CD quality sound from an iPod as well as charge the iPod. My stereo does not support text display that I know of. The cost is quite steep in my opinion at around 150$. There is also a simple RCA to iPod dock cable that also provides charging from Belkin for about 30$. Any info is appreciated.

the ipod2car plugs into the cd changer port on the back of your deck. you have to have a changer button on your deck to be able to use it though. there arent any rca's on the back of that deck.  they sound good and you can still use the ipod to control the music if you like.

git yer swerve on!
