distribution block in engine bay

moving the battery to the rear and generally cleaning uo the engine bay wiring on a 83 D-150.

will have a 0 to 1 gauge in from the battery, a 4 gauge from a relay center, a 4 gauge from the starter and a 8 gauge from the alternator to bring together.

would a stinger box such as this one be durable, weatherproof enough work in an engine bay for this application? I know I could just go with a stud and use ring terminals to bring these together. Thinking the distribution block could look more high tech, question is would it last?

is there a distribution block that is more weather / corrosion resistant,, or are all of these mainly targeted to audio connections and assumed to be inside the vehicle in the trunk or passenger compartment?

not familiar with the input = output concerning wire gauge, of coures this is not my trained area of expertiese, I have more of a QE / Statistical background. Am I correct that the only down fall on oversizing wire gauge is wasted money, weight and install hassels?
