Hi.. im totally new to this so please bare with me. I purchased a Ultrastart 1272 start with Fortin bypass. Everything works fine unless I connect the +brake light wire to the module. When I do I get 6 flashes which it says in the manual "brake light error". IF I disconnect the brake light remote start works fine, if I connect it while its in remote started it shuts off. I put a volt meter and I get 14.5 when the pedal is depressed but .5v when its release. I suspect this slight voltage is activating the internal relay thus assuming the brake pedal is depressed. I soldered all the wires and this leads me to my question. Can I place a diode in line to show no voltage. Not my area of expertise but would appreciate your help. Thanks

You can try a diode inline and see if it drops the voltage enough to allow the system to work. Diodes usually have a 0.3-0.7 volt drop across them.

I doubt if it's an internal relay, that would need about 7.5 V+ to activate.
If the diode or a 200 ohm resistor doesn't do the trick you have a faulty module.
Have you added something like LED brake lights?
