I have looked through most of the post here and in the diagrams section but I cannot find a wiring diagram that matches the head unit and CD player that came with the Neon. It has a six speaker set up but I don't think it is the Infinity package. There are two plugs in the back of the head unit, one has twelve wires attached (violet with blue, yellow with red, orange, purple, blue with red, brown with red, green, black with brown, blue with white, blue with orange, brown with yellow, purple with yellow) and the smaller one (red, violet, black, black with yellow, gray with white, green with white, black with yellow, orange with yellow, gray with yellow) has nine wires. I am trying to figure which one I can use for a remote to a amp for a sub.

I was able to figure which was the positive and negitive on the rear speakers so I can use them for the line level in thanks to this site but the rest of the diagram does not match the wiring in the car.

Thanks folks, Ed

You can use the ignition wire as an amp turn on lead as well. This will supply the amp with the same amount of current needed to turn the amp on.

The color that I have for the switched igntion is RED / WHITE. Test this wire first for proper wire verification though.

Thanks Jeff I will give it a shot tonight after work.

Any other ideas what the wires I listed above would be on the head unit?

Thanks again, Ed

The other wires may go to a changer or a auxiliary tape player.

Got it set up tonight but it is not working the way it should. I will start at the begining...This girl at work had a Sunfire about four or five years ago that she had this sub/amp set up in and when she got a new vehicle it was a truck and there was no room for it. Now that she has this Neon she wanted it put in and since I put a bazooka in my truck I figured how hard could it be. The biggest part of the problem I think is the amp. It is a Dr. Crankenstein M80 and I found that they are no longer in business and I cannot find any sort of set up/wiring info on the net. What is happening now is when the head unit is turned up just to were the sub starts to sound good the speakers and sub start to cut out/crack and pop. I am using the line level set up cause there is no RCA jacks in the back of the head unit. I have all the positives and negitives correct as far as the left and right rear speakers go for the line level input wiring. The bridged/mono has not been touched since the box was built and I cannot read the info that tells what is what there so all I can do is assume it is wired correct. Also from what I can tell the head unit/speakers is not the Infinity one that from I understand can cause problems trying to this kind of set up with the line level.

Any help would be great and from what I have seen of this site so far there are a lot of folks with the know how that can help.

Thanks, Ed
