Battery cables--is bigger better?

When replacing battery cables, is it a good idea to get the biggest gauge available?  (Factory ones are no longer available, and I'll be using an AGM OPTIMA battery if that matters.)

If your going to replace the cable I would suggest using a 0/1 gauge cable. But be sure to upgrade your ground as well. What are you powering?
