OK, I've never worked with fiberglass before but would like to build a custom fiberglass enclosure for the rear door spare tire compartment in my SUV.  From what I've gathered together on the web, it seems like the best way to do this (in a nutshell) would be to build some sort of "frame" out of MDF, coat my spare tire compartment with foil or tape, build up a few layers of fiberglass, allow it to harden, pull out the whole enclosure, build up some more, and attach an MDF front.  My question is this:  how well will the fiberglass bond to the MDF frame?  if my frame is basically a "ring" made out of MDF and I layer the fiberglass inside out it, will i just be able to wood glue and nail and MDF front to the ring and create a strong seal, or will I have to build up the fiberglass around the edges of the MDF front also?

Also, can anyone recommend any links or books with a lot of example fiberglass projects that I can learn from?

Are you wanting to have a subwoofer or anything in this enclosure or is it just covering the spare tire? Fiberglass will bond to fiberglass as well as you make it, basically the fiberglass should be attached to the MDF usung staples, or something like that, then brush on the resin. If you want to then add a front, I would then do the same for it.
