I plan to build a stealth enclosure that will form around the wheel well and the rear side panel on my coupe, which will hold one 10" sub on each side. What would be the best way to go about this setup. How many layers should I use of glass, what should I use to prevent unwanted resonance and vibrations between the fiberglass and the unibody. Basically, I want to use the cavity inside the rear side panels as the mold and from there build the fiberglass box. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,
Travis

what i would do, is start by cutting the metal to open the area up a bit so you can work. then i would tape off the area with masking tape and use a mold release like wax or foil.
then using a thinner chop mat like 1.5 oz or thinner, layer it in there. the thinner the mat the more layers you need to lay.
another way to do it is to use MDF and piece it in there. make sure to cut 2 of the same piece, that way the 2 sides will have the same air space.
a lot of times this works well if the metal on both sides do not match (i.e. if ther is a gas tank filler or something on one side).
you can still do a glassed front and make it look the way you want to.
as far as the vibration, you can use foam, carpet, sound deadening, or things like that. if the enclosure is mounted good you wont really have a big problem with the vibration on the back side of the boxes.
