Looking at the specs page for this small woofer, it says the recommended volume for one speaker in a sealed enclosure is .175 cubic ft. If i wanted to make a box that housed 2 of these woffers, does that mean that i should double that volume that's recommended for the best sound?
I noticed a guy had a fiberglass box made with 2 of these speakers (sealed enclosure)for his tacoma...looking at the box they were in...there was no way that it was .35 cubic ft in this box...and the speakers sounded really good with the amp he was using.

Yes you would usually double the volume or make a seperate chamber for each sub.  I think he may have built the box in the centre of the yellow enclosure and the wings may be boxed off from the subs enclosure so they arnt part of the subs airspace
