Neon tube trouble

In advance I apologize if this has come up already.

I bought two double neon tube kits which included a control module and a cigarette light adapter for each. One kit was for 6" neon tubes and one kit was for 9"neon tubes. I wanted to run all 4 tubes off of one control module and hardwire it to my car. My problem is that when I turn the control module on, one tube glows as it should, two tubes are dim and the fourth tube does not turn on at all. The wierd part is that if you squeeze the wire or the tube itself, they become brighter or in the case of the last one it turns on dimly. These tubes only include 22 AWG wire or smaller to connect them to the control module. The power source wire is only 20 AWG. Also I have all four tubes soldered directly to the circuit board of the control module. I'm wondering if its the size of the wire or the control module itself. Any advice is welcome as to how I can remedy this situation.

Thank you

Jon

Hey Jon,

I installed 4 - 3" neon tubes behind the vents of a 93' Grand Am.. They all had the ciggerette adapters.. I dunno what you adapters look like but I know mine had what looked like a little motor on the inside of the adapter.. when you took that out either it was very dim or it just didn't want to turn on at all.. So what I did.. was I ran the wires to a toggle switch and they worked perfectly.. I don't know if this will help you at all but I hope you get it figured out.. Neons are a pain with all of the crap they put with them now..

Hey Bro, what you can do is make sure that the wires get a good clean connection
it could be the reason why you are not getting clean power or dimming proble
