my cd unit is dead

Thankyou for taking the time to read my post . I have trawled the site but I cant see a relevant post so hence my posting .

I have installed an aftermarket CD player head unit to my 2004 Ford Ka 1.3 (uk model) but there is a strange problem which has me stumped . The unit has power going to it as it will accept and eject CD's but the facia is absolutely dead .

I tested all the power supplies using a very simple bulb test but they all check out fine . ie- the bulb lights up no problem when a simple circuit is created

I returned the CD unit to the retailer and got a replacement model - it has the exact same problem !!- there is definitely power going to the unit as it also will accept a CD and will eject it but other than that nothing ?? - the facia is absolutely dead .

Surely two seperate CD units cannot have the same problem ?( they are not the same make and model so I even eliminated that potential issue )

im stumped . Please any support or ideas would be most welcome

Not 100% sure what you mean by the harness ? - I assume you are refering to the electrical supply cables ?

I purchased an ISO adapter for Ford so it acts as a interface between the existing Ford cables and the CD unit ISO plug .

It checks out fine as well when the 'bulb' test is applied so it is working perfectly - As i said on original post the unit has power going to it as it will electronically accept and eject CD's ( both head units!) - there is also a small LED which is flashing but when i clip on the facia there is nothing

try running 12v off the ignition harness and see if that changes anything..  sounds like to are getting switched 12v but your constant isnt triggering correctly.  do you have a multi meter?

I most definitely have only one wire supplying 'power' so that may well be the problem ??

All the other wires are 'dead' .

I will investigate this over the weekend
