FB is your resonant frequency of the box. refered to as tune of the box. It along with sub and size of box will dictate the output of your sub.

well, what kind of sound are you trying to get out of a ported box? are you going for loud or are you wanting a nice low tone and frequency response? in general, the longer you make the port the lower it will be tuned to, and the lower the frequency response will be, however it wont be as loud, but it will sound better on low notes. if you make the port too short the sub will sound like it is just flopping around it the box when it plays really low notes but it will be louder on the higher notes.
