Might not be fried try and disconnect the rca inputs and the speaker output (speaker wire) and turn it on let me know if it goes into protection mode. I have tested that amp and it puts out just over 1200 watts @ both 1&2 ohms.

its been tried with just the power ground and remote hooked up and with rcas and speakers, protection mode red light with blinking green power light. any idea what it puts out at 4 ohms?? or, if i get it working, is it a "good enough" amp to run at 1ohm to a RF power hx2 12"- 1000rms??? thanx.

So with the rca and speakers disconnected it still goes into protection mode? If so then it is bad. I have no idea what it puts out at 4 ohm. It’s not worth fixing Boss is the bottom of the line in car audio and I don’t think too many people would disagree with me. If you want a good quality amp I would go with a JBL 1200.1 It has an attractive price and puts out good clean power. However Boss is not very strict when it comes to warrantee. If your amp is out of warrantee or you don’t have a receipt you can make one up on your computer and BOSS will most likely repair your amp( although I don’t promote dishonesty ). But I would suggest you go with the JBL 1200.1 it will sound a lot cleaner and its a lot more reliable it can also be run at 1 ohm. Here is a link to some info on the JBL http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/JBLBP12001 bu you can find it much cheaper on other sites http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=525792/search=jbl%25201200/ut=1837088145a3a4b8
