I'm hooking up this new Pioneer Deck.
I've already hooked up the speaker wires.
I'm just down to the factory Harness(s) Black white stripped wire, Theres 2 Orange wires, one is smaller in diameter and I dont know what to do. The Diagram I got from this site doesnt have enough detail.
The pioneer deck has a red wire (controlled by ignition switch)
Yellow Wire (Constant power supply)
Blue Wire with a white stripe (remote control thingy, IDK)
Its been a while since I did this sort of thing.
I already cut the factory harness female plug.
I could care less about the truck chimes, auto illumination crap.
As far as I'm concerned, I am not impressed with my vehicle, its a work truck i got stuck with, but I would like some descent sound. Getting this vehicle it already had problems from day one (even when the vehicle was launched)with the speedometer, a/c harness, the cabin light switch is in a bad place, too many auto features that I cannot stand. I'm old school.
The truck doesnt have a bose system, its just a plain GMC sierra 1500 that came with a radio, literally. I need some help hooking the rest of the system up.
Many thanks
i am an idiot

If you did not care about the chimes or the Retained Accessory Power, you could have used a wiring harness that sells for 15 dollars.  If you use that harness you would still have to run the radio's red wire to the fusebox.  Connect it to a fuse that gets power when you turn the key to the on position.  There is one fuse in the box that will work.  I have no idea of it's exact location.  If the vehicle does not have a Bose system, you should not need the Blue'White of the radio.  There is a constant (Orange) wire located in I think the corner pin of the car's factory harness.

Thanks for the reply,
That explains the blue wire. I'll just assume the (Constant)Orange wire is the thicker one of the two and needs to be connected to the yellow wire. Then perhaps the smaller orange wire goes with the red wire from the new deck harness. Right?

no... that is not an acc connection.  You should grab your accessory connection at the fuse panel.  If you are unsure where that is, you should buy the shop manual.  The orange wire in pin A1 is for data communication from the BCM.  It will not activate your radio.

exactly, thats what I was thinking. I'm not afraid to touch the fuse panel, cause in the past I had to branch directly off the fuse panel to get some interior + exterior accessories to work.
I'm just being a little cautious, thanks simplyfalling

How about that I got it to work w/o the $15 Harness.

The Red Wire went straight to the fuse, I just frayed the copper thread flat~like, then plugged the 10 amp fuse into the fuse box. Done
Connected the Yellow with the Red wire as shown in the picture.
The black wire from the factory harness hooks up with aftermarket deck Black ground wire. I had a Nissan where the deck had to be bolted down to a metal frame, BUT with the GMC I have to cut off that attachment then hook it up with a wire nut.
The Red wire goes with fat Orange wire. So when the car is turned on the Pioneer Deck gets a good flow of power from the rest of the truck systems(which is activated when the vehicle is turned on, so there is no battery drain when the vehicle is turned off).
The chimes dont work, but I'm ok with that and I'm happy.
Thats it.
The rest is just matching up the speaker + and -'s.
I hope this helps alot of people. Kudos to simplyfalling for the heads up.
