how to boost the volume

Hi guys, I have a wired fm modulator that I wired into my 05 chevy malibu. It's a nice piece that was relatively inexpensive but I needed to boost the input volume since I could barely hear the audio coming from my mp3 player. I installed a 30 dollar line driver which helped a bit but added lots of noise and i was looking for perhaps a better product. anyone know of a decent 2 channel solution?

An HU with an aux input.

My double DIN factory unit receives data from the car as well like oil change info and mileage. I don't believe there is a cheap unit to replace that adequately.

Metra sells a kit for that vehicle.  The kit retains the data center and retained accessory power, and onstar.  The kit is costly, we sell it for 250 dollars. It does include the wiring harness.  An antenna adaptor sells for about 6 dollars.  We have decks that have 1/8 inch audio input and Ipod charge and control starting at 140 dollars. 

Ya! way too expensive. I am just looking for an amplifier (line driver) guys. do you know of a good one that's cheap?

You *DO* know that they've come up with a "12" knob, right? Ain't technology great?

I think that was my mate Dodeca Rivers that invented the "12". Dodeca was sick of the quiet metric system and wanted a return to older "perfect" systems like 12, 36. Personally I think it was pure ego - he wanted to justify his name. (As to "Rivers", lets just say he loves Isuzu!) Avoid 13 - that causes tinnitus. But 14 & above bypasses that. (As a friend said - "you then get used to the noise!".)
