First of all, I'd like to say thanks to everyone. I've been lurking on this site for years now, getting info for all of my installs. I do installs as a little side job on craigslist to supplement my income. I've never had to post here because I've always been able to find what I'm looking for without posting. This time it's different.
Even though I've been doing audio and security for a few years now, this is the first steering wheel control adapter I've had to do and I have a few questions.
There are 12 total wires. Two are - and +, which are easy. But for the rest of them, it says:
"3) Locate the correct SWC wire(s) in the vehicles radio or secondary harness as described in the vehicle information sheet found in the Axxess website. Connect the correct wire color(s) from the ASWC to the vehicles steering wheel control wire(s) in the vehicle."
That seemed simple enough. so I looked up the vehicle information sheet on their site.
2006 LEXUS RX400H 4DR SUV WITH 3.3L ENGINE AND MARK LEVINSON® 11-SPEAKER AUDIO SYSTEM
Resistance Type Control System     YES
Reference Ground Wire Color     RED
Reference Ground Polarity     (-)
Reference Ground Location     RADIO HARNESS
Reference Ground Pin #     6
Control Wire 1 Wire Color     GREEN
Control Wire 1 Polarity     (-)
Control Wire 1 Location     RADIO HARNESS
Control Wire 1 Pin #     7
Control Wire 2 Wire Color     VIOLET
Control Wire 2 Polarity     (-)
Control Wire 2 Location     RADIO HARNESS
Control Wire 2 Pin #     8
It just has info about three of the wires and nothing else. What do I connect the remainding wires to? Just cap them off and leave them or what? I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I didn't see anywhere in the manual that said only three wires will be used.
Also, for the wire locations it has the color and says radio harness. The harness is 3 separate connectors and each one has a violet and the other colors. How do I know which one to use? Or is this just kind of guessing?
Once again, I'm really sorry if these are stupid questions. I've just never said, "I can't/don't know how to install that" and I don't want to start with this. I have until sunday to figure this out.

Wow I feel stupid. About 30 seconds after posting that, I noticed a link lower on the information sheet page. I didn't notice it before because it just said "8215 shell wiring instructions" but when I opened it, I got this:
http://contentdocs.installernet.com/documents/vehicle/10957.pdf
That pretty much tells me what wires to connect and which ones to cap off. Is that the correct info for that car? Nowhere on the instructions does it mention a make or model or anything.

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
