i would like to know what combination of subs and amp or amps would give me the loudest and hardest bass.  8 kicker 12" comps and two kx600.4 amps.  the comps are 40-150 watts rms and 300 watts peak power.  the kx600.4amps are 150 x 4 @2 Ohms or 300 x 2 bridged.  If this is the best, which way should i connect it.

or 4 kicker l5 12" and one kx800.2 amp. the l5's are 50-600 watts rms and 1200 watts peak.  the kx800.2 is 400 x 2 @ 2ohms or 800 x 1 bridged.  if this is best how should i connect it.

any advice would be very helpful and appreciated.

If you don't know ask? It's better then messing up.

Out of both of your set ups you do not have enough power running to your speaklers.  And what is this going in 8 12"s on 2 600.4's.   No power at all man.  Your amps will be hot as hell not to mention you will be underpowering your speakers which both are dangerous.  If you really want some good bass give a price and we will help you with a much better system.  How much would 8 12's cost anyway?

i run 8 12's in my Bronco i have 8 MSX audio classic's 250wrms each and i have a Boss Audio Systems Riot 3000D @ 2 ohms 2000w rms. each subs see's 250wrms perfect match. that what you need to do you don't have to run boss or msx, but you do need to match your amps output to the subs power handling. so 8 subs @ 150wrms = 1200rms. I would get the jbl 1200.1 and you will have much better sound from your 8 12 set up. the 4 15 set up would be 4 subs @ 600wrms =2400 wrms run 2 jbl 1200.1 @ 2 ohms 2 subs on each amp. or you could find a high dollar high currrent amp @ 2400wrms to power all 4 @ once. i would go with the 2 jbls.

the only good subs kicker have are their sqaure solos and thats cause they require A Lot of power...I recommend going with a different brand of sub cause you can get better speakers for the price of Kickers

the comp 12's are $130 a pair. i only have $1000 to spend on the subs and amp set up.  so what kind of amp would be in my price range. the 8 comps will cost me $520   so i have $480 left for amps. the L5 are $280 a pair.

why so many subs? if you have such little money less is more. go with L7 (any size) in the right tuned enclosure and a good class d amp you will need only half of what you said. we have 1 L7 10 and a lot power hitting 146.1db.

it's a show truck and it wouldn't look as good with one l7 then it would look with 8 12" i have a lot of space to fill.  i now have $1800 to get a system, and read some where that with 8 12" comps and 2 kx300.4 i could hit 142 db. thats why i ws going to go with 2 kx600.4 but i think the guy that told me that was full of sh**. thats why i was thinking of going with 4 12" L5 and two kx800.4 what do you think? i just want something that hits hard and can be heared far away and looks good.
