Hi,
This is such a dumb question, but I'm running out of ideas. My antenna broke on my hatchback Integra, so I bought one of those interior antennas to install inside the car instead. I can't figure out where to put it, though. The black box in the middle of the antenna is kind of thick, so it's tough to put in some places. Plus, it says you can't put it closer than 1/2" to metal, but that's sort of tough because every panel that I would hide it behind has metal.
Ideas:
1. I put it under the headliner, but it didn't fit.
2. I was going to put it in the trunk behind the panels, but the metal is very close to the panels...plus I'm not sure that the antenna cord reaches that far.
3. I was going to try behind some of the pillar plastic pieces, but it's too small...plus it had metal.
4. I was trying to avoid installing it on the window, although that works well.
5. The only thing that sort of worked was putting it on the sunvisor, and running the wire down the pillar.
Anyone have any ideas?

Mount the "black box" on the dash where the A pillar intersects the dash, and run the wires along the edges of the windshield.

Thanks for the response! I guess I should have included a picture of it.... it looks like this. It has a little black box with two "wing-type" extensions. That's why it's been so tough to place somewhere.

Ah, now I get it.  What I posted before would not work.  I'd put it either along the top edge of the windshield (hiding the "black box" behind the rear view mirror mount area) or if that doesn't look right, try simply putting it along the bottom edge of the windshield, centered on the dash.

I would not hide it in a place where there is body sheet metal between it and the outside world, like under the dash or inside the A-pillar trim or under the headliner, as that might interfere with reception.  Glass tends to be pretty transparent to radio signals.

If the antenna cable would reach, you could also mount it along the top or bottom edge of the rear window.

Yea, so I've been shooting for the rear window, on the back ledge. I've got it wired through the hatch's lid, and then into the car, but that pretty much used the antenna's whole wire :-) I know how to extend the antenna's power wire easily, but how can you extend the actual antenna wire. It would be cool if I could use the exisiting antenna wire because then I wouldn't have to run another wire. Either that,or I guess I can go buy an antenna extension.
Here's some pictures I took because I was helping someone else do this.
