1989 Pontiac 6000 stereo

I replaced the factory stereo in my 1989 Pontiac 6000LE, 2.5L-4 cyl. with a new CD reciever, I used a wiring harness to make things easier.  The new CD player worked fine.  I turned it off and it quit working.  No power.  I checked the wires and the yellow constant power wire was breached (?).  I could see the wire through the insulation.  I think the heat sink fins on the back of the reciever cut through the insulation and touched the wire.  Now the factory stereo gets power but the display doesn't light up and it won't tune any stations.  The tape player also works but there is a wierd beeping that almost sounds like morse code over the tape, but the sound is real crappy.  I checked all the fuses in the fuse panel and they are all good.  Could there be an inline fuse on the constant power supply somewhere other than in the fuse box?  If not, any ideas of what the problem could be?

Please help me I can't drive without the bump.
