Clipping

Hey, I was just wondering if someone could explain to me what clipping is? I think i've got a pretty good idea on it, just wanna clarify any little details. thanks.1990 Honda Civic HB:

Your vehicle has a tach, the tach has a redline, if you take vehicle into redline, bad things happen to engine. Clipping = amp running out of clean power = redline and above. Clipping = distortion or straight dc =  blown speaker. The speaker only reproduces what it is given, feed it distortion as the amp is run out of power, the speaker will produce it until it dies a smelly horrible death. A tweeter will blow in the blink of an eye, a sub will take much longer. If you use an amp that is too small for the task and you run it out of power on a continuous basis, it is not long before you have the dreaded "smelly speaker". Straight dc means that the amp is putting out a dc signal, this send the cone of the sub to full excursion in one direction and it holds it at that point, not long before the fireworks start.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
