I have an 05 Altima with Bose...and my current setup is as follows..

JL 12w3v2 running off of a JL 250/1 amp

MB Quart PCE 216's Running off a Soundstream VanGogh 400.2 (100w x 2 @ 4 ohm's) (line level converter hooked up to fr and fl outputs from bose amp)

It seems like my mid bass is severly lacking. The highs are great, and the sub sounds great, but it seems like on rock, alternative, and most country music that there isn't much between the high's and the sub. Any ideas?

scrap the bose HU, and opt for a nice aftermarket unit to compliment that set up.  The headunit in you car currently is made by clarion, and i can tell you there not the best sounding factory units.

Im pretty certain there is dash kits available for your car now.

The thing is, I have factory navagation. It seems to me to be integrated all together. If I were to get another HU, would I loose the navagation? What I would like to do is get an alpine HU and keep the factory nav, but don't know if that's possible...any ideas? Thanks

could you post a pic of how your dash looks?  would help us help you with ideas.  if the stock deck isnt one piece the navigation, you could relocate the stock deck somewhere under the dash and put a new deck in its place

Also, in some of the GM vehiles, the Bose systems are supplied with dedicated amplifiers - one to each driver. These systems are EQ'd TO the car, and if you simply replace the speaker, without bypassing the amplifier, or without fixing the EQ curve, the EQ curve will not be correct anymore. Just tossing that out there, I do not know if the Nissans are the same type of setup...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I'm thinking I may need to tap off with the line level converters before the bose amp...that could be 1 thing. Also here are some pics I had, hope they show up good.

A better fix may be just around the corner. JL Audio is set to release the "black box" in May for just this type of situation. Check it out here:
