I want to install an aftermarket subwoofer amplifier in my 2005 Trailblazer (Bose system, OnStar installed) and leave the factory HU in place.  With all the talk on the forums about problems messing with the factory wiring ("I tapped into the pink wire and now red hot laser beams are emitted throughout the truck."), I am fairly nervous.  Is there a harness that I can use for this purpose?

After the sub amp is installed, I want to replace the other speakers and install another amp and no longer use the Bose amp (I understand this is separate from the HU?).  Is there a problem not using the Bose amp?  Where would I tap in to use the factory wiring to the door and dash speakers?

Thanks,

Jason

If you're going to do all of that, why not just get a new HU too?

actually what would it matter what source you chose to use?   get a good quality LOC like SoundGate or PIE and off you go.... tap into the larger of the two plugs on your Bose amp that goes directly to the speakers....

It's amazing how many OEM-phobics you run into on this forum......
