I installed a new system into a 2005 Scion tC. All is well except... I'm VERY poor AM reception with little to no signal strength based on the built-in meter. FM stations come in just fine with plenty of signal.
Also, AM stations tuned in just fine using the stock head. I double-checked all the connections and everything seems to be fine. Do Toyota's/Scion's use a signal amplifier?
Thanks

It's AM, honestly, what does it matter.
Pioneer DEH-15 HU.
Two Sony 12" P5's. (Sealed Box)
Kenwood 920watt KAC-7202.
Kenwood 350watt 6"x9" KFC-M6935ie.
Kenwood 320watt 5"x6 1/2" KFC-415c.
Sound-proof, and it's complete.

Generally aftermarket decks do not do as well as stock decks when comes to fm and am reception. However they make up for it in the cd section.

Confirmed!! The antenna on the tC needs a power source. Used the power-antenna lead and all is well.
