I have a 97 Mazda Protege and I am putting in an aftermarket radio. I found a wiring diaogram on-line that was helpful however, going by the diagram I should have one Purple wire (left front +) and one Yellow / Blue (right front +) this is accurate inside the doors but not coming through the dash. The wires coming through the dash that are left over are White / Red, White and Yellow / Red all other wire colors were corect and I have hooked them up. I have power, memory and rear speakers but no front. I have tried several combonations with the left over wires with no luck, if anyone can help I would be grateful...Tim

That's not what he meant.  Your local stereo shop will have a wiring harness for your car.  You wire that to the new stereo's harness and it'll plug in where the factory radio did before.  I'm curious what kind of stereo had no striped wires, this must be an older unit.  The newer units follow a universal standard for ease of hook up: https://www.the12volt.com/request/request2.asp.  The speaker negatives should all have a black stripe.
