hi

i have a mtx 421d amp running a kicker 05cvr12 , and i have a blaupunkt gta-470 amp running 4 speakers. my alternator gives an output of 90 A and i play my music loud . now i see my headlights dimming now and then even with the music turned of and when i measured the voltage on the battery  during the vehicle running , i got readings from 14v to even 17 volts which kept fluctuating . i kind of figure i have an alternator problem . i live in a different country and i have no HO ALTERNATORS available here i have been searching for it from a long time but havent found it yet . and i plan to add another mtx 421d amp to the current setup . so can any one help me with any information

and i checked my alternator to battery wiring it is about 1.5 cm thick so i dont know what size that is .

i have plenty of space to install almost any kind of alternator but the main problem is that i have  a few pipes hooked up on the back of my alternator i guees the alternator doubles as some sort of pump or something .

Can you not simply get a stock replacement? At 17 volts NOTHING is gonna last long.

i can get a stock replacement but i feel that , after sometime im gonna hve the same prob with the alternator , the amps were putting a heavy load on the alternator and today i noticed that the mtx amp would keep turning on and off , when i went to the battery shope he told me the battery was  to be filled with distilled water which was nearly empty , he told me it could be an over charge problem . after that the amp dint show any prob till now .
