I know these are made and sold for detecting radiating noise, but i was wondering if anyone around the volt had any experience building one for had a link to share, so that i can have a fun project to play with on my down time.

hi,

find an old cassette walkman or similar.  locate the tape head, remove it and extend the wiring (shielded cable) three feet or so.  the tape head will be the transducer/sniffer.  when play is pressed, noise,  etc. picked up by the tape head will be heard through the headphones.\

hope this helps
