i had a Viper 790XV installed in my 2003 Durango and I noticed a delay in the shutoff of the engine after I turn it off. The engine will stay on for a second after I remove the key.
I believe this has to do with the remote start. Is this normal? The system is set to check voltage instead of tach (because the installer was too lazy to hook it up.) If I connect the tach wire and set it to check tach instead of voltage, will this fix the delay in the shutoff? If so, where and which wire is the appropriate one for tach on a 4.7L Durango?

You say that this started to happen after the Viper was installed? The tach should have nothing to do with this and the RS should also not have anything to do with this since the RS is not on when you are driving. Is the delay significant or is it very subtle? I am not counting out the viper, but it certainly is a strange problem.
