HI,

I have a 1992 J-reg, Honda Prelude 2.2 V-tec SI 4WS, Automatic, Jap import with an H22A engine.

It has a Serpi Star Gemel GR99 Thatcham Cat 1 Alarm/Immobiliser fitted with a 2 button remote.

Recently I tried to start the car (after not running it for a while) but would barely turn over, so I disconnected the Battery and took it inside to charge it up (As I've done this a few times with this car). The next day I went out with the battery and connected it up. I pressed the left button on the alarm remote to engage alarm then again to disengage alarm. Tried to start the car but would not turn over. Dash lights up as normal, doors lock and unlock as normal when alarmed and un-alarmed. Seems like the immobiliser won't disengage.

I have tried the over ride code - but this did not work.

I have tried arming the alarm then opening the door so the alarm sounds and waiting till the siren stops. Then disconnecting the battery for an hour – but this did not work.

I have pulled the earth straps from the engine to chaises to battery, cleaned all connections for good earth - but this did not work.

Would you happen to have the wiring diagram for this alarm system? As I’m thinking of striping it out if I can’t get it to work again. honda prelude gr99 alarm wont disengage -- posted image.

Any ideas.

Regards

John

Disconnect alarm power, charge battery, reconnect alarm and battery with the car keys in your hand. If this forced reboot doesn't work do what I tell 3 people a month with this type of rubbish alarm, bin it!

Hi, Just pulled the 3 fuses on the alarm power, and disconnected the battery.

How long should I wait & should I put the fuses back in b4 I connect the battery.?

The alarm came with the car... what systems do you recommend?

Thanks

About 1 min, but your best bet would be to rejoin the cut ign and starter leads then install a Clifford 650 or Viper 460/80/500XV to renew the Cat 1 certificate.
