I have an '07 Scion tC and am attempting to wire up an AM security system/remote start.  I have the "horn" wire and am curious to know if it's required that I attach that lead or can I get away with NOT wiring it up?  I hate the sound of my horn, and have the bullhorn that comes with the system, so that will make more than enough noise.  If I HAVE to hook it up, I will, but I would really like to avoid that.

Please keep in mind that I'm an ASE-Certified Electronics and Brake Technician, so I've been around the block a few times when it comes to wiring stuff up in vehicles.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!  horn wire connect scion tc -- posted image.

No, you don't have to hook it up.
Another option you might consider would be to hook it up, but see if you disable the horn honks with lock/unlock.
That way, you'd never have to hear that little baby horn in day-to-day use, but if the alarm goes into full trigger, you'll still get the maximum noise possible (horn and siren together).

Here's another question:  Is there a way to go ahead and disable the horn for the locking/unlocking trigger, and have it only go off when the system goes into full-trigger?

I think so.
I think there was a typo in your first post.....you typed "AM" but the number is missing...AM1 or AM5 I'm going to guess?
Anyway, if you have the option, it'll be in the programming menu somewhere.
