titan ts251a remote starter

Hello,

Just over 1 year ago, I installed a Titan TS251A remote starter into a 2005 Dodge Durango.

Recently, the remote starter stopped shutting down the engine when the brake was pressed, or if the key fob was used.

I checked the brake switch, and it is functioning normally, the signal (+12v) is present when the brake is pressed. When you step on the brake, you can hear the relays inside the remote starter clicking off as well.

However the engine continues to run unless you unplug the module.

The other problem is that the wire normally used to turn the bypass module on (it is a ground out from the module)  is staying grounded all the time, not just when the module is on.  

I cannot come up with any reason that this is happening other than a defective module, but I thought I would ask here for any advice before I buy a new module.

You could try a Factory reset on the unit.  See page 10 of the install guide.  You will lose all of the option programming and have to do a TACH learn again but the remotes will stay programmed.

If you re not using the Orange wire at Pin 4 of the 14 Pin connector, see if that is also giving GWR constantly.  If it is still working OK, use that for the bypass instead of the usual GWR wire.
