2001 silverado passlock + rs

I got a cheap bulldog RS90 kit with a 791 bypass. Got the bypass and rs90 hooked up together but not on the vehicle yet. I have located the passlock wires but I am not sure where I am supposed to tap into. Do I tap into the wires BETWEEN the barrel and plug under the wheel or in the harness coming down the column AFTER the plug under the wheel? I have searched for over a day on this and finally decided to join here and hopefully get a straight answer. Thanks for any input. Also this is my first install so any pointers in that direction are appreciated.

The Red, White Blue and Yellow/Black all connect to the RS90 ( some of the RS90 wires continue to the truck ). 

The Orange goes to the trucks Passlock2 Ground wire.  Usually Black or ORANGE / Black

The Yellow goes to the trucks Passlock2 resistance wire.  Aways Yellow.

The Passlock2 wires are thin gauge and in a group coming down the steering column from the ignition switch.  Make the connections at any convenient

place between the ignition switch and the BCM.

P.S.  The Bulldog R/S system is a solid performer when properly installed.  I had one in a Dodge Caravan work van that ran flawlessly for many years and

thousands of miles.  Used it at least 15 times a day and went thru remote FOB batteries every 4 months.  Just securely solder all your connections andinsulate with a quality electric tape like Scotch Super 33+.

thanks for the quick response. what is the best way of splicing into the passlock wires without a gun? they are very thin and I don't want to screw this up. on the larger wires I cut some tubing out and split the copper inserting the splice through the hole and looping around like suggested but i dont see that happening on these wires.

With the thin Passlock wires, it's really is a good idea to solder them.  A 25 to 40 watt soldering iron will handle the job easily,  Think they costless than $15 at WalMart and the kit comes with a small roll of solder.   If the connection isn't good, you could end up in one of the Passlock2 tamper modes, stuck somewhere.   Soldering is fun!

I am having problems with the T-Harness. The plugs are the same as the factory but I cannot get them to seat properly. Even trying to connect the harness to itself, the pins will not line up. It is a GM 11 T-Harness. I will take some pictures in the morning. Maybe I will call tech support but that usually just wastes more time.

I got the harness fixed and will update you guys later on how the install goes.

Got it working tonight. Something isn't right though because starting with the remote triggers the security light. I should note I got locked out by the security on the first try. The key would not start the truck and I had to do the 30 min reset. After that everything worked like it should but the security light now comes on after remote starting. Using the key it does not come on. My 791 bypass is properly connected so i'm pretty lost here. Where should i start to trouble shoot this?

Figured I'd update this in case someone else has this problem. Unplugged the 791 and grounded the blue wire that connects to the RS90. Plugged the 791 harness back in with the wire grounded and waited till the red LED illuminated. Unplug harness and ground. Re-attach blue wire to RS90 power wire and plugged harness back in. Problem solved. This is NOT the procedure outlined in the manual. I had to dig around on the net for a while. The manual is pretty much useless.

That procedure was used in place of  the 791 Memory Erase process listed on Page 12 of the manual?Soldering is fun!
