Installing an Avital 4003 add on auto start to a '13 Scion TC. I am using one of the Omegalink interfaces(OL-MDB-ALL). This is being added to the factory keyless(yeah, yeah, i know all the down falls of doing this. lol).
The install is complete other than finding a good signal for the status input wire.   I have the starter programmed for 3 pulses to trigger the start sequence.   I can trigger this by hand simply grounding the trigger three times and the starts and runs perfect. However, locating a good signal wire to use for trigger this input from the factory keyless is proving difficult. If i'm not mistaken, my only real option is a door lock motor wire.   I've located the actual motor wires in the kick coming from the door harness, but the wires meter a little odd for some reason. The motor wires stay grounded unless triggered by the keyless or door switch, but i never see a voltage change when the this is done. I never see a 12volt signal going to the door lock motor to actuate the door lock. I can set my meter on audible continuity and here the the ground drop each time i press the keyfob or door switch. When I do try to use this lock wire and press the key fob button 3 times the car will crank and run fine, but for only a couple seconds and shut back off.(but remember, the autostart cranks and runs perfect if the status wire is triggered by hand). So apparently the locks are doing some funny to shut the starter off. And the only way that should happen would be to pulse the same wire 3 more times. But after startup the locks never try to actuate again indicated this phenomenon.
Anyone have any comments on this?   Or do I need to explain myself any further? Looking for some direction.   This is the last connection i need to complete install.

Toyota doorlock actuators move pretty fast, so the pulse from the car's keyless entry system is fast---probably just a little too fast for your meter. But it seems like you are on the right wire.
You'll unfortunately need to use a relay to convert the car's positive doorlock pulse, to the negative pulse that the remote starter requires. The "Relays" section on this site should help you.
85: Car's doorlock wire
87, 86: Car's chassis ground
87a: not used
30: Activation input on remote starter.
Some of the older Avitals had a WHITE/ red positive input in addition to the WHITE/ blue negative input. They seem to have taken this wire away, requiring you to use the relay.

Perhaps triggering off the positive should be the way to go. I actually thought I had tried this. Will double check my efforts on this. Being this is an add on start, there is a jumper on the side to change the activation input from negative to positive. I'll also double check my door lock motor wires with an analog meter just to issue they are correct.   This should not be that difficult. Lol
