Planning an install of Directed's DB3 module in an '18 Chevy Colorado in RSR mode w/THGMD1 harness, allowing remote start with 3xLOCK activation on factory fob. Noticed on the DB3 details for this application it states that OEM remote is not active.....does this mean that the door has to be unlocked with key after/during remote start to gain entry? Can anyone share any experience with this type of install? Thanks in advance....Al.

Had the owner of the vehicle verify today that factory fob was still functional while the vehicle was running...does this confirm that access to the vehicle with the factory keyless entry is possible after remote start? Thanks....Al

Got around to doing this one over the weekend.....need a bit of help on it. Install/DB3 programming with Key2Go went well per Directed's 403.GM10 4.17 RSR guide. When attempting remote start...module led indicates initializing r/s, ignition on, start on....but does not turn over engine. Attempts this three times and then get 3 parking light flashes (indicating low or no RPM detected). Also displays "service theft deterrent system" on the center dash display....don't have access to the vehicle at the moment to further troubleshoot, but thinking that the "no crank" condition may be tied to the security system? Am I correct in assuming that GM security disables starter when triggered? Next time I have access to it was thinking of trying setting DB3 to unlock before r/s and re-lock after.....any opinions/input? Thanks, Al

Can anyone confirm for me that GM's theft deterrent system does in fact disable the starter when triggered? Al

Finally finished this up last weekend....the starter not engaging ended up being solved by programming DB3 module with the owner's other key (the one he uses on a regular basis so possibly there's a master?). If using the THGMD1 harness, safety override switch needs to be in the "off" position (not "on" as the install instructions indicate). Also, despite a warning that comes up when programming stating that it is not active during remote start, the factory fob does in fact remain fully functional allowing both keyless entry as well as 3XLock stop! Hope this helps someone in the future.....Al
