Hello,
Recently purchased this unit on Amazon as my current (unknown unit) lost it's mind. I noticed that the previous unit utilized a 556u and a XCRS. Will my 5305L require these other add on modules or are they no longer required? Vehicle is a 2001 Ford Excursion Diesel.
Thanks,
Anthony

yes, the 556u has a second key in it for the immobilizer. You could buy a dball3 or idatlink alca and do away with the 556u. little different, and youd have a 2nd key which you'll need to program the dball3 or idatalink alca. the xrcs is the old viper relay pack for the remote start, the new remote start will have its own connection so you wont use that piece

33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!
