I have just installed a crimestopper informer car alarm/remote start.

turning on and off the ignition will lock and unlock doors as planed.

...then if I keep the door opened after doing the above, then I can unlock and lock via the FOB.

...if I shut the door, then I can only LOCK the door and it won't UNLOCK.

any help greatly apppreciated

it's on a 96 toyota landcruiser that had a factory alarm

currently i have it hooked up to:

lock: GREEN/ red

unlock: blue / YELLOW

...and I used he diodes that came with the kit.  With the "white bar" on the diode on the alarm brain side.  Soldered all connections.

...so what you are saying is there is one wire for lock, but TWO wires for UNLOCK.  total 3 wires, 3 diodes.  I have some extra diodes, but not sure what size to use.  any recommondations?  and do I have it correct that I need to find a third wire?

thanks!

Profuse007,

I looked all over for the blu/org wire, but did not find.  So I took what you told me about a third wire and looked through my wiring diagrams and compared it to what was on the stock alarm plug.  I found something called "door unlock detection SW Front LH".  I said, what the heck, let's give it a try.  IT WORKED.  The color:  Light Green (almost seafoam green).  So add that to the cranium for future installs :)

thanks again for all you help!

actually i work nites and did it when i got off work.  however, i have a new issue and may need to look for the wire you mentioned.  but lets see what you say first.

unlock and lock works till the cows come home EXCEPT...after this:

remote start, don't open any doors, kill remote start from the remote, unlock then DOES NOT work.

well...I found the Blue/orange wire and hooked it up. I still have the same problem I did as mentioned in m last post.   Still can lock and unlock normally except after a remote start and stop from the remote...after that I can't unlock from the FOB>  :((

is there any other wires or possibilities I should be looking at?

thanks!

ohh man you're in deep.....grin...  i think i can help.

According to "The Book" by Omega:  "Some doorlock systems, however, require more than the 250ma. ground output that the security system's control module accomodates."

use a relay to give the Unlock a better ground point. Hope this helps

well...i just closed up the truck.  I went ahead and diasabled the auto lock after FOB start feature.  that fixed my child lock problem.

Next Time I open things back up, I'll try what you said.

thanks!
