I am having trouble finding the tan / YELLOW tach wire for my ranger, the book that came with the alarm system said you were supposed to check for ac voltage at that wire and it should be from 1-6V AC, and then the voltage should increase when the RPM's Increase...However, at that wire, and even the fuel injector wires, there is around 31.5 volts AC, and the voltage Decreases when the RPM's increase...I have distributerless ingition, and i am wondering if this is the correct wire...I dont want to fry my $499 system. Any Suggestions would be appreciated

Get a tach signal from the coil plug. There should be a 12 volt with key on, so you can use any of the other three wires
