2003 Nissan Altima bad tach?

tinkering with a 2003 Nissan Altima.  Installed an Autostart AS1414, programmed up and started perfect.  However, it jams up the factory keyless system (works on similar frequencies...)  So we upgraded the chap to an AS1725SH which works on 433, and it cleared up the jammed keyless perfect.  BUT...the tach signal will NOT shut down the starter!

tried every possible tach location.  each wire reads and measures proper tach signal, and the unit behaves as if it "sees'" tach during programming, but still holds the starter in.  Have tried putting 15K-20K resistors inline, didn't work.  Tried using DATATACH module, didn't work (we think the module is f-ed)  Tried 3 different Autostart units and they all behaved the same!

Has anybody done one of these recently that they've figured it out?  We've got an AS1414-433 on order to get the best of both worlds, but it seems strange the AS1725 won't work.

i had the same problem on a 93 toyota mr2 and i putted a starter kill relay b/t the starter wire and it solve my problem. it sounds weird huh? took me awhile to figure out that crap hole that was in.

Have you tried WHITE/ Green under the glove box? I have a pictire if you want to see where it is.

The problem is likely due to a gliche in the ignition switch. The Altima's are known for this problem. Simply wire in a relay as follows:First cut the car's starter wire. Terminal #85 to the remote starter's negative out when running wire; Terminal #86 to ignition; Terminal #30 to the car's starter wire(the side that goes to the actual starter); Terminal #87a to the other side of the cut starter wire (Ignition cylinder side); Terminal #87 to the starter wire from the remote starter. This should eliminate the problem. It is caused by a feedback from the ignition switch on the accessory wire to the starter wire. The added bonus of this circuit is that it is also an anti-grind circuit. You won't ever grind the starter after remote starting if you trun the key too far past the run position. Also make sure that the remote starter's ground is into a aclean, paint free part of the car's chassis. The tach setting is referenced off what you use as a ground.

yep, tried every tach wire in the car including the GREEN / WHITE behind gove box to no avail.  the starter does behave as if it finds the tach, but holds in the starter....

Reset the unit and try to learn the tach again. Or return the unit and ask for a new version of AS1725 - Hardware 3.4 and software S3.5.

I had ssame problem on 2 Sentra 2004. The new AS1725 works perfect. The customers are happy after 3 times came back to the store.
