I have a 2001, 6.0 GMC pickup that I am going to attempt to put a remote start in.  I have these small programmable computers with 12 inputs / outputs.  The outputs are relays, inputs just sense continuity to ground.  Anyways, they are completely programmable and will run off of vehicle voltage.

I have installed a couple of real remote starts, but these were on older vehicles, I really don't want to cook anything, as the truck is a company truck.  (If this works I'll do it on my own truck.)

Anyways, I need some instructions on how to install a remote start unit on a GM fullsize truck with a gas engine, (if it works, I'll need info on the Duramax)

This could be cool, or, it could be really dumb.

thanks,

Because it's free and I have lots of time..... while at work.

Anyways, How does a remote start monitor the engine?  Also, I can set this thing up so the truck comes on at certain times, and I can control it via microwave radio.  (Start / Stop, time on, voltage sensing and temperature sensing all can be done...  the only thing that could be hard is the tach.)
