I have a 1995 Jeep Cherokee with a Viper 400 alarm on it and I believe something has happened with the ‘starter kill’ feature because the truck is inoperable (as starter kill would). Everything else in the vehicle works, but I get absolutely nothing when I turn the key. There are no relays I can find associated with this system, do you have any ideas where to start? Does anyone have an installation manual? (The truck has been sitting for nearly a year…and I’ve replace the obvious- engine sensors, battery, battery cables, neutral safety switch, etc.)

look under the dash for this wire...Starter YELLOW IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS.....see if you can find the relay...if so disconnect it and tie the two wires back together....then try to start the jeep.....if it starts, thats the problem.....
Good Luck

I unplugged the tap to the ignition wire and the truck started...once. Turned it off uninstalled the alarm and it wouldn't start again.
I searched the database for 'no start' and found:
"If you locate the alarm CPU, it wont matter if you unplug it. It will not start, as it requires the alarm to send a ground to close the contacts.
3. Worst case, you pull the whole unit out and rewire the ignition with new wires, to enable you to start the vehicle."
What exactly does this mean. Are their any other option...Like installing another new alarm?
Please help!!
