Hi ,I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice for a remote starter on a 04 camry .I know it has a transponder and factory alarm.I have done an 03 before ,no problem. I have used and have another kit #as-pkt from autostart. It wired up to the data wires perfectly and i used the keysense wire to get around the factory alarm. My question is the by-pass doesnt list 2004 maybe because it was packaged prior to their release or it wasnt tested at printing time. Most sites I have visited to check wiring diagrams lead me to believe that there was no real change  from 03 to 04, even 05 seems the same. Has anyone done an 04? What  kind of bypass did u use? Does the kit I have  work ?  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I always prefer to err on the side of caution before getting under the dash..

Thanks Bruce

TBKIII is a kit from bypasskit.com it is just a key in the box install for the 6 cyl. "universal" yep.
wiring is same i beleive. I just did a 05 with no schematics the old fasioned way, test light. and was very simple you will have no problem.

I wired both up but i dont think they are necessary, but you have to do door locks if you want to unlock the door via keyless after starter is running.

I have a 4cyl camry XLE 2004.

I tried leaving the key sense wire out on my 04 and the factory alarm will sound if you give it 15 seconds to arm after all the doors are closed and locked.  But you must give the factory alarm time to arm or else the car starts just fine. (the factory security led goes from steady on to blinking to show that it is on)

Wiring diagrams say the keysense wire is blue and in the ignition harness.  The only blue wire i found in the ignition harness is very thin but i connected it anyway and it does not disable the alarm.  I had to use the unlock wire in the kick panel to unlock the car before it starts then it relocks the car after started.  it is annoying.

Also I think the Accessory wire is wrong in the wiring diagrams as well because it does not meter when in the acc position only in run and start.  Although it seems the heater still comes on.

Bypassing transponder was very simple.  I used the easiest wiring that comes with the 556u bypass unit from www.asianwolf.com.

Hope this helps.

If it is broken Fix it.

I found the other blue wire and it does power the acc.  Make sure to test with a multimeter cause there are 2 blue wires in the ign harness. lots of people say the acc wire is not needed in this car as it only powers radio and such and not the blowers but when i did not have it hooked up the climate control feature would change when i actually put the key in and this does not happen if the acc wire is connected.

04 camry and up and most 05 toyota vehicles chaged to a roling trnsponder key and no bypass is available you have to use a programed key.  If you hook up keysense wire it won't set of alarm but factory keyless won't work while started.
