Ok i have an install coming up first time i tryed this.

and i just don't get it i was looking at the DEI manual. on door locking systems.

i get the principle on which it works.

what i don't get is the realy part they have it set up so whel you unlock the connection is severed and the doors unlock. this i get.

here is my problem. most alarms send a pulse right. so as soon as the pulse is over it will remake the connection and dors will lock... atleast this is the way that i see it. obviously it works can somebody tell me what i'm missing about this system.

I just want to better understand it thats all.

or is it a case that when the doors are unlocked and the connection is remade. that the doors won't lock its will need an earth then to lock it again.

Only when the wire is N/O does the locks engage. So when the pulse that is generated is gone, the system doesn't re-lock. the only time it relocks is when the wire is opened again. You have it backwards in your description. Most systems use the ground as a unlock.

anyways just thought that i would ask

also on this site it showes a diagram with two relays but in the DEI manula it shows only 1.

i didn't look i very close detail but i presume both are acheiving the same objective

I only use 1 as well for the Type F system.
