2002 dodge ram remote start

The 563t has a starter kill circuit, are you sure that the 563t is unlocked when you are trying to start it with the key?   When you say it does not start with the key, does the starter enage or do nothing in the start position? This truck has 2 ignitions, and 2 accessories that are required for remote start, make sure they are all getting power when using the remote start.

If I leave all wires as directed by the instructions, I can start with key. With the remote I can turn the engine over, but it will not start. I have checked and rechecked connections with no results. I was told by an installer to go into the settings and change from tach to voltage, but the alarm isnt letting me access the settings as per the instructions; that is open door, turn key on and back off and within 10 seconds press and hold the valet/programing button. Its not allowing me in. Also the alarm isnt flashing the parking lights when armed/disarmed but does sound the speaker. It also attempts remote start with only one press of the remote instead of two as per default settings. Spencer Shain

Make sure you are unlocked when trying to access the programming menus. Switching to voltage sensing is ok to troubleshoot but using a tachometer connection is the better, more reliable way to hook up especially on a Dodge. Make absolutely sure that you are going all the way to Ignition on with the key, but not to start, it will not enter programming if you are just powering the accessory wire.

Well, I rechecked everything. I think that the alarm is locked because after turning the key on and of and then pushing the programing button, I dont get anything (like LED flash or horn sounding), and if Im not careful, it turns on the valet. So, this is what I did, I got a meter out and checked connections. I then took the pink wire from the remote and connected it to the large blue wire on the column, and the pink/white wire to the smaller blue wire. It works perfectly. I just hope it doesnt burn something out like that. What do you think? Everything seems to be working perfectly. Truck, alarm, remote start, etc.Spencer Shain

The large blue is listed as an accessory which means when turning the key to start, this wire loses power and regains it when in the run position. The smaller blue wire is listed as an ignition, so that connection is correct. Make absolutely sure that all of the required items are being energized during remote start (blower motor, A/C compressor, etc). If everything is energized and your check engine light is not coming on, then you should be fine.
