Update: I been trying to install alarm upgrade using Factory Keyless Entry in my Subaru '02 Forester with no success. I've downloaded a copy of Subaru installation instructions for install of their system upgrade which shows an 18 pin security module. Should I be able to use these wires to install my alarm upgrade? It's an aftermarket unit. Thanks.

If you test the wires in this plug and there is change while you have the DMM on the wire, then you should be able to use it for the keyless entry. I found some more information about the 2002 Forester for you concerning the door locks. The wire to the switch seems to change when it goes to the motor. From what this wiring schematics says the switch wire is not the same as the motor wire to lock and unlock the doors. 2002 Subaru Forester Alarm Upgrade? -- posted image.

  • LOCK MOTOR: LIGHT GREEN/ BLACK
  • UNLOCK MOTOR: BLUE/WHITE

Both wires are located at the KEYLESS MODULE and in the door. If you can , please scan the wiring page of the Guardian model 911-800 and email it to me and I will see if I can help figure out the wiring that is needed. Email me at this address: velocity@valleycable.com and if the above wires are correct, then you don't have to email me the file.2002 Subaru Forester Alarm Upgrade? -- posted image.

Good Luck and post your results.

Jeff: I think I confused you on my last post. MY vehicle came with remote keyless entry. I'm trying to add security upgrade (guardian 911-800). I obtained Subaru security upgrade install instructions off web site. This is where I saw there is a 18-pin security module connector. I figured all the connections I needed would be at that connector. I'll test them in the morning and send you the results. I can't scan any diagrams (limited e-mail system). I could copy them at work and fax them to you if that would help resolve my problem. Thanks. Please post me back your thoughts.

If the wires that are on this 18 pin connector tests accordingly to the wires that you will need to incorporate the Guardian alarm, you should be able to use them. Make sure you use a DMM to confirm what the wiring diagram says and verify the wire by testing it's circuit. You can fax me the diagram at 1-204-822-1266 anytime and I'll reply back to you when I reveice the information.
